Honestly, I can say that the only time I've been able to assuredly know that a job is done correctly, is when I'm the one who has done the actual work.

I have had assistants who are great assets to my company, but I work as a business owner who is a technician. I prefer to treat each car, and each person individually.

Josh, its good to hear from auto shops such as yourself who have been in business for many years. No doubt it is because of your attention to detail that keeps you successful. Keep up the great attitude.

Dwayne, your right about the motivation factor. I think when a person realizes that an auto tech often works on more than 100 cars per month you begin to understand how monotonous the job can be. It is important to have extra motivation or incentives put in place. Dwayne, do you mind telling us what type of motivation you have found to be effective?

The shop employees must see the point in doing high-quality work. Thus: the motivation.
